Interlibrary Loan

The Jefferson Public Library participates in an interlibrary loan program that connects patrons to materials available in other libraries throughout Iowa and across the United States. If an item is unavailable in our library, it can be borrowed through this service.

Speak to an Adult Department librarian for more information on interlibrary loans or to make a request. Both books and movies may be requested. Interlibrary loans are subject to the guidelines below.

Before You Make an Interlibrary Loan Request

  1. Make sure that you have a Jefferson Public Library card.
    • If you do not have a card, follow the steps to fill one out here
  2. Check our card catalog to make sure that the Jefferson Public Library does not already own this book or movie.
  3. Visit our E-books provider Bridges or its companion app, Libby, to see if the title is available.

Request may take 7-10 days to fill.
