APPLY FOR A CARD

All Iowa residents may sign up for a Jefferson Public Library card. To apply for your card, you will need:

  • Photo identification or utility bill 
  • Current Phone number

If you reside outside of Iowa, but own property in Greene County, you will need:

  • Photo identification

LIBRARY CARD TYPES

Children's Account

An account for ages 3 and up. Cards are kept on file in the Youth Department until the child enters grade 7. Caregivers are responsible for all materials borrowed, fines incurred, and any monitoring of materials checked out under this account. Applications for this account can be found in the Youth Department. 

Teen Account

A single, confidential account for grades 7 and up. Teens may retrieve their children's library cards and turn it into the Adult Department to update it upon completion of sixth grade or when they turn 13. Teens are responsible for their physical library card, all materials borrowed and fines incurred. 

Adult Account

A single, confidential account for ages 18 and up. Adults are responsible for their physical library card, all materials borrowed and fines incurred.
